What is Zen Oasis?

Zen is a type of Buddhism that focuses on meditation to attain mindfulness and detachment. It has also become a word to describe a state of calm and peace, a feeling of oneness and enlightenment. An oasis is defined as something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast.

I consider my home my oasis, and Zen Oasis is a small part of my home I have dedicated to cultivating my own Zen as well as that of my patients. Zen Oasis is a place to connect to your own healing powers to align and balance your Qi for health and wellness. I primarily use acupuncture to help guide my patients on their healing journeys, but I also use cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, and sound therapy as part of my practice. Visit my BIO page to learn more about me and my passion for holistic medicine.

Can Acupuncture Help Me?

Acupuncture can treat many chronic and acute conditions. Some of the most common conditions for which people seek out acupuncture include:

  • pain of all types (back injuries, neck pain, arthritis, plantar fasciitis, migraines, fibromyalgia, etc)
  • insomnia
  • menopause and menstrual disorders (PMS, endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, etc)
  • Infertility
  • GI issues (heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, etc)
  • anxiety, depression and stress relief
  • addiction and substance abuse

But acupuncture can treat a great many more conditions alone and/or in combination with other treatments, both traditional and non-traditional. While acupuncture is not a magic cure-all, but it can relieve symptoms from incurable or genetic conditions, such as auto-immune disorders. We will discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail to determine what benefits acupuncture can provide for your specific condition(s) and the best treatment frequency and duration to achieve the greatest benefit.

How Do I Get Started?

I am currently accepting a very limited number of patients to treat in my home in the Woodfield Park area of Columbia. I am available for evening and weekend appointments. Due to my limited availability, I am asking all prospective patients to conduct a brief telephone consultation (5-10 minutes) with me prior to setting your first appointment to go over some basic information about acupuncture, your expectations and/or goals, and any questions you may have. You can also visit the FAQ page for answers to some commonly asked questions about acupuncture, as well as some questions specifically about Zen Oasis.

If you would like to schedule an appointment please call (803) 673-9578 or email jenifer@zenoasishealing.com.
